It's really time for me to get rid of the ghetto phone. I spent a lot of money on it and the non-phone features really are essential. BUT IT SUCKS AT BEING A PHONE. I know that people I'd really like to talk to aren't getting through. I've dealt with the orange bullethole looking thing in the display since it was 2 weeks old ("Not covered by Cingular's insurance, sorry!") and I'll be damned if they'll get a new contract from me- but this thing is hit.

My phone is fubar-ed

Now the antenna is awol and it's only getting signal with an alligator clip. I'm torn between getting another insane high tech thing I can take notes on, and something that will actually function as a phone.

On other fronts, Meme Tech is busy as @#(*&#%. Going white water rafting this weekend with Tango. Reading good books, meeting some rather interesting female humans, hanging with friends and enjoying the summer. The youngest goddaughter, Asana Hasu, is suddenly walking. The middle one is getting cranky and working to establish her own separate identity from - The oldest who is an alpha princess. They are the coolest people I know. I haven't seen the boys in a while, but I'm sure they are loving life and working their mom to death.

Working on art projects for the first time in a while, there's a thing to get out of my system. Going to the gym & systema lots and finally don't feel pain in my back when I do things - which is amazing! Anyway, I need to go figure out a way to MacGyver some waterproof vinyl something around this alligator clip.

Life is still good.

Hi J.J.

Remember me? Steve K. from the Detroit area? I was on the lineup for your interstellar dreamfest back in 99 and we've encountered each other at many, many mid-west campouts if that jogs your memory. Boy it has been a while that is for sure.

I sent you an “add friends” request on myspace to keep in touch. I see from your blog you've been up this way a few times recently. Keep me posted, would love to get together or something.

For the PDA phone I would highly recommend purchasing a Cingular 8125 phone and just pop your SIM chip in. I've had mine for about 3 months now and it is the best yet. You can get them on eBay for like $380 (at least that's what I got mine for). It's got everything you could want on a PDA phone except for GPS. But for that I use the I-Blue BT GPS receiver and pair the two devices. I use it with TomTom Software and it's truly the most useful PDA phone device I've ever seen. Get one and flash the ROM as soon as you get it.

These links should help:

Good luck and keep in touch!
